Gender Equality

Industry Insights on Women’s Advancement

On International Women’s Day, we explore how industries are advancing gender diversity, closing pay gaps, and creating leadership opportunities for women. From corporate initiatives to policy shifts, discover the key trends shaping a more inclusive workforce.

Anita Kukreja, Head – Strategic Alliances & Brand, IceWarp India
“International Women’s Day is not just a celebration of women’s achievements but also a call to action for a more equitable and inclusive world. Women today are driving change across industries, leading with resilience, innovation, and determination. Yet, true progress lies in creating an environment where opportunities are not defined by gender but by talent, ambition, and capability.

Empowerment goes beyond recognition—it is about fostering a culture where women are encouraged to take leadership roles, their voices are valued, and their contributions shape the future. Organizations must continue to break barriers, promote diversity, and invest in the growth of women professionals. When we uplift women, we uplift communities, businesses, and economies.

As we celebrate this day, let’s collectively work towards a world where equality is not an aspiration but a reality. Let’s inspire the next generation of women to dream big, lead fearlessly, and redefine success on their own terms.”

Anamika Luthra, Key Business Account Manager, 5Tattva
“International Women’s Day is a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and determination of women across all walks of life. Women today are not just breaking barriers but are also redefining leadership, innovation, and success in every industry. From boardrooms to classrooms, from science labs to startups, their contributions are shaping a more progressive and inclusive world. However, true empowerment comes when we create an ecosystem that nurtures equal opportunities, recognizes talent beyond gender biases, and fosters a culture of respect and support.

As we celebrate this day, let’s commit to uplifting each other, challenging outdated norms, and championing the cause of gender equality. Together, we can build a future where every woman has the freedom to dream, the courage to lead, and the opportunity to succeed without limitations. Let’s inspire change, break stereotypes, and create a world where equality is not just an ideal but a reality.”

“Shalini Kaul, Marketing Director, India & SAARC, Juniper Networks
” This Women’s Day, let’s go beyond celebration and drive real change. Women’s strength, talent, and ideas are shaping every field—especially technology, where different perspectives lead to better solutions. At Juniper, we are committed to creating an environment where women can grow, lead, and make an impact. By encouraging more women in STEM, we open new doors and create opportunities to accelerate action. Together, let’s step forward to break barriers, and build a more inclusive and connected world for all”

Latha Narayanan, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), L&T Semiconductor Technologies
“At L&T Semiconductor Technologies, we recognize that gender equity is not just a moral imperative but a strategic business priority. As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we must reflect on our progress and the work still ahead. From breaking into traditionally male-oriented industries like semiconductors to balancing professional growth with personal responsibilities, women continue to face specific challenges in the workplace. These challenges present opportunities for organizations to drive meaningful and inclusive changes.

We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where women can thrive and lead. This starts with fostering a culture of equality, where every voice is heard and valued. As a growing organization, we are implementing mentorship and upskilling programs like i-Rise, leadership development tracks, and flexible work policies to support women at every stage of their careers. Additionally, we are actively working to increase the representation of women across all roles, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities to excel.

The semiconductor industry is at the forefront of technological innovation, and diversity is key to unlocking its full potential. By empowering women to take on leadership roles and contribute to groundbreaking advancements, we are not only accelerating gender equity but also driving innovation and growth for our organization and the industry.”

Asha BV Senior Director, Global Software Engineering, at Philips Innovation Campus
“As a leading health-tech company at the forefront of innovations aimed at delivering better care to more people, we are deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment. We firmly believe that the challenges faced by our customers can only be fully addressed if our organization truly reflects the diverse market we serve.

Over the years, we have seen firsthand how the full and equal participation of women is essential to driving innovation, productivity, and overall growth. At Philips, we don’t just talk about inclusion – we make it a reality. A prime example of this commitment is the shift at our manufacturing site in the Chakan plant in Pune, which is exclusively staffed by women professionals. This initiative not only showcases our dedication to empowering women in the workplace but also highlights the positive impact it has on our business and innovation.”

Ramya Parashar, Chief Operating Officer at MiQ
Empowerment isn’t about giving women a seat at the table, it’s about redesigning the table so that inclusion is the norm, not the exception. True equality means breaking not just barriers, but mindsets that limit ambition, opportunity, and voice. For all women and girls, empowerment begins when we stop seeking permission and start owning our power—when we champion not just our own success but create pathways for others to rise. The future isn’t waiting to be shaped by someone else. It’s ours to lead, build, and transform. Let’s not just talk about equality, let’s drive it, demand it, and make it undeniable.

Aparna Giriprasad, Sr. Manager, Technical Product Support, Sabre
This year’s Women’s Day theme – #AccelerateAction – speaks to the urgency of our time. While progress has been made in bringing women’s voices to the table, we are still far from achieving true equality. It remains limited to few sectors and roles , and the path ahead is long. To accelerate our efforts, we need all genders to come together in conscious action – educating, empowering, and creating equal opportunities for women. This women’s day I am hopeful though the summit of equality may seem distant, together, we rise to reach its peak.

Priya Chakkingal, Director- Investment Operations and Risk Services & Co-chair of WIN, Acuity Knowledge Partners.
Education is the first step towards empowering women, making it important to ensure they have equal right to access to it. When women have access to education, they become more aware of their rights. With the right education and skills, they can achieve financial empowerment. Which in turn, gives them confidence and helps build the foundation for a transformative change in the social and economic structures of society as a whole.

Anjali Amar, Vice President & Country Head, India and SAARC, Cloudflare
Accelerating gender equality is not just an aspiration, it is essential for building a more inclusive and innovative world. In today’s digital-first era, empowering women in technology is not just about fairness, it’s about unlocking innovation, fostering diverse perspectives, and driving progress. When women are empowered, industries thrive, solutions become stronger, and society flourishes. But achieving this requires more than intent; it demands decisive action to remove systemic barriers, challenge biases, and create pathways for all women and girls to excel.

At Cloudflare, we believe a diverse workforce fuels creativity, resilience, and growth. Inclusion is not just a value, it is a necessity. This means fostering an environment where diverse talent is nurtured, every voice is heard, and leadership is accessible to all. Rights, equality, and empowerment should not be privileges, they should be the foundation of every workplace and industry.

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the achievements of women while recognizing that the work ahead is far from over. The theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.”, underscores a crucial truth: true progress is only possible when every woman, everywhere, has access to opportunities, representation, and the ability to lead.

We must go beyond conversations and take meaningful steps: advocating for equal opportunities, dismantling stereotypes, and ensuring workplaces embrace diversity as a strength. When we champion the rights of all women and girls, we don’t just create a fairer world—we build a stronger, more innovative future for everyone. Let’s take action, inspire every generation, and make gender equality a reality for all.

Mrs. Kirti Kabra, Director, RR Global
“On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the invaluable contributions of women in business and manufacturing—industries traditionally dominated by men. This year’s UN theme, ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,’ underscores a vital truth: empowering women propels industries, economies, and communities forward. At RR Global, we recognize that true progress occurs when women have equal opportunities to learn, grow, and lead. This is also aligned with the Government’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047, which aims for 70% female participation in economic activities. We are committed to fostering education, skill development, and leadership among women. Our initiatives strive to break barriers and cultivate an inclusive environment where women thrive as innovators and decision-makers. The Union Budget 2025-26 marks the 20th anniversary of gender budgeting in India, allocating a record ₹4.5 lakh crore—nearly 9% of total expenditure—to support women’s economic empowerment. Today, we see women in manufacturing and business leadership who are redefining norms, and demonstrating that excellence transcends gender. To sustain this momentum, continued investment in women’s education and career development is essential, ensuring they possess the tools to excel. A diverse, inclusive workplace not only promotes fairness but also accelerates economic and industrial growth. On International Women’s Day, I urge businesses to move beyond celebration and take meaningful action toward gender inclusivity. By investing in women, we pave the way for a more progressive, equitable, and prosperous future for all.”

Anjana Sastri, Director – Marketing, Sterling Developers
Today, women are excelling across sectors, and real estate is no different. Women’s Day draws the world’s attention towards the strength that women display every single day and are people who must be celebrated every day. This year’s theme ‘Accelerate Action’ couldn’t be more apt for an industry like real estate – one that has historically been known to be more male-dominated across our country. However, slowly but steadily, women professionals in real estate have been breaking the bias and challenging the status quo. In a dual role now, women are proving each day that their multi-tasking potential is par excellence in both professional and personal domains. Real estate companies have become alert to the skills women exhibit and hence are making changes in their policies and are enabling women in various ways to optimize their performance. From realtors to buyers, women are playing the lead role in varied segments of Indian real estate. Women are known to multitask, which is a critical aspect in real estate owing to the complex nature of the industry. Moreover, the next generation of female entrepreneurs is steadily accepting real estate as a promising and viable career opportunity. One of the primary merits women possess in the field of real estate lies in their inherent aptitude for collaboration and adept communication. Women tend to bring in a combination of compassion, focus, assertiveness, and determination in various segments of the sector. The inspiring stories of women taking up leadership roles in the real estate sector have proved that traditional homemaking roles are no longer roadblocks in their professional growth. As the participation of women increases in the real estate sector, they are actively advocating for gender parity, commemorating their achievements, and setting up platforms to rectify existing imbalances. The industry is seeing that gender diversity is not only about equality but also about advancement and success. The future of real estate contains enormous promise and opportunity, with women leading the way.

Riddhi Chhabria Asrani, the Founder & CEO of All Stars Digital and Rixero on Women’s Day

Dr. Priyanka Sharma, Director of Software Engineering at Fujitsu Research of India (FRIPL) and Head of the MONAKA R&D Unit (HPC-AI Lab), Fujitsu
Today’s woman is a leader who can shape up any obstacle into an opportunity. They can be mothers as well as leaders but, With only 29% of the global AI workforce being female, it’s time for women to step up, claim our space, and lead. In my experience of years in industry, academia, and research, I’ve seen how resilience opens doors especially in the case of women. They can be the catalysts for innovation and progress. As Director of Software Engineering at Fujitsu Research of India, I’ve led advancements in AI and computing—but my true passion is uplifting women in STEM.

On this Women’s Day, let’s turn underrepresentation into opportunity. Keep learning, keep pushing, and never settle. The future of innovation needs us—not just as participants, but as leaders”

Nistha Barthakur, Lead, People and Culture at Jar
“Empowering women is about creating opportunities that allow us to thrive both personally and professionally. In my journey, I have learned that true leadership comes from lifting others up, fostering growth, and embracing challenges as opportunities for innovation. As women, we hold the strength to lead, to create, and to impact change.
This Women’s Day, I reflect on how financial independence plays a crucial role in this empowerment. When we take charge of our finances and prioritize savings, we build not only security for ourselves but also the foundation for future generations. The power of saving lies in its ability to provide freedom and peace of mind, allowing us to pursue our passions without limitations. Let’s celebrate the women who are making bold moves towards their financial futures and continue to pave the way for those who will follow.”

Sunita Cherian, Chief Culture Officer, Wipro Limited
“Creating an equitable future requires consistent and meaningful action. At Wipro, we foster a culture that truly appreciates every associate, nurtures their development and offers equal opportunities to all. We are committed to consistent education & training, attentive listening, and evolving our practices to embed inclusion into every aspect that grows our business.”

Neha Sampat, Founder & CEO at Contentstack
“Technology has the power to level the playing field, and women are already leading its transformation across industries. To sustain this progress, businesses must go beyond symbolic representation and ensure that women have real influence in leadership, decision-making, and innovation. Diversity is not just about hiring—it is about creating environments where different perspectives shape the future of technology in meaningful ways. In an era of rapid change, the organisations that thrive will be those that recognise inclusion not as a concession, but as a strategic advantage that drives better outcomes for everyone.”

Neha Bagaria, Founder and CEO at HerKey
“Women in India are not just breaking ceilings; they are redefining the very structures that once held them back. The future of work is inclusive, and it is time for organisations to actively champion women’s leadership, not just as a goal but as a necessity for business success. By fostering a culture of mentorship, flexibility, and equal opportunities, we can unlock the immense potential of women in the workforce and drive meaningful progress for the economy. True empowerment comes when women are supported at every stage of their career journey, from entry to leadership, creating a cycle of growth that benefits all.”

Kavitha Ramachandragowda, Co-founder & Executive Director, Routematic
“According to the World Economic Forum, at our current pace, full gender equality may not be achieved until 2158. Women’s Day 2025 serves as a crucial reminder that we must accelerate progress. Encouragingly, more women today are breaking barriers in entrepreneurship, leadership, STEM, and mobility—proving that opportunities should be based on talent, not gender. However, systemic challenges persist, and meaningful change requires more than just policies or statements—it calls for consistent, everyday actions. Intentional hiring, fair promotions, and creating workplaces where women can thrive are vital steps forward. At Routematic, we are dedicated to building an inclusive workforce, enhancing mobility safety, and leveraging technology to create equal opportunities. While India has made significant progress, the journey is far from over. Gender equality should not be an exception or a distant goal, it must become the norm.”

“Today, on this Women’s Day, I wish to celebrate the power of resilience, passion, and innovation that women bring to every field. In my experience within the risk management and insurance data-driven worlds, I’ve seen how differing perspectives help to shape progress. As women, we have the ability to bring together rigorous analytical thinking with innovative problem-solving into solutions that empower as well as protect. Collectively, we continue to break barriers, innovate, and inspire future generations to take on leadership roles in the industries that most need our voices at this moment.”

Subhalakshmi Ganapathy, Chief IT Security Evangelist at ManageEngine
“On this International Women’s Day 2025, we celebrate the significant progress women have made in leadership roles, particularly in the tech industry. At ManageEngine, we are dedicated to not only fostering gender equality but also empowering women to drive technological innovation. Women’s contributions in fields like cybersecurity, software development, UX design, and general IT are shaping the future of technology. Diverse perspectives are essential, especially in areas like cybersecurity, where evolving threats require innovative and unconventional thinking. Diverse teams bring fresh approaches to risk assessment, collaboration, and problem-solving, leading to more robust security strategies and user-centric solutions. We have witnessed the power of inclusivity in shaping more effective defence systems and fostering innovation. Gender equality is not only a moral imperative but a business one, and I am proud to work for a company that champions these values, enabling women to make lasting impacts in technology.”

Priya Krishnamurthy, Director – Commercial Sales, Acer India
“Women have been pivotal in shaping innovation and progress across industries. This International Women’s Day, under the theme ‘Accelerate Action,’ we recognize that advancing gender equality is not just a necessity but a catalyst for transformation. At Acer, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where women in technology and leadership have the opportunities to grow, lead, and shape the future. To truly build an equitable tech industry, we must inspire young girls to explore STEM, support women already in the field, and create pathways for leadership. It requires action, mentorship, and a collective commitment from organizations, leaders, and communities. When women are empowered, we don’t just bridge gaps—we ignite innovation, accelerate economic growth, and create a future that benefits everyone. Let’s break barriers, challenge biases, and build an industry where every woman and girl has the chance to thrive.”

Roopa Jayaraman, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Odessa, a global B2B fintech platform
“It’s always inspiring to see women blitzing trails across industries—breaking barriers, owning their careers, and making a lasting impact despite systemic challenges. Conversations about ‘leaning in’ feel outdated; women across the world are seizing their careers. Real progress happens when our ecosystem commits to building inclusive workplaces and equitable practices, designed for all to thrive. “Accelerate Action,” this year’s International Women’s Day theme, is a call to do just that—to move beyond rhetoric and drive real and meaningful systemic change.”

Anjali Sharma, Director, Global Head of L&D, Fulcrum Digital
“The digital revolution isn’t just about technology—it’s about people. Women must not only participate but lead in shaping its course. At Fulcrum Digital, we believe learning & development is key to ensuring women are equipped for today’s digital demands and tomorrow’s innovations.

With India leading in AI skill penetration among women—at 1.7 times the global average—we are witnessing a powerful shift. Yet, the real challenge lies in translating these skills into greater influence, as women continue to break technological barriers but remain underrepresented in leadership. Today, AI is no longer just a tool; it is enabling Unified Intelligence—where human potential and machine capabilities work together to create lasting impact. As Unified Intelligence moves toward Human Intelligence Amplification, AI is helping women break barriers, access new opportunities, and drive meaningful change—without replacing their expertise, creativity, or leadership.

This Women’s Day, let’s focus on accelerating this transformation by making learning more adaptive and accessible. With the right opportunities and support, more women can step into leadership roles and shape the future of technology.”

Vasanthi Ramesh, Managing Director, NetApp India
“We recognise that diversity isn’t just a metric — it drives innovation. Women currently hold 10.4% of leadership positions in Fortune 500 companies, this presents tremendous opportunities for more women to break the glass ceiling and make an impact. A three-pronged approach can pave the way for future leadership: proactive networking to build meaningful relationships, clear and confident communication to amplify our voices, and a strong mentorship culture to support one another.

At NetApp, we are committed to nurturing an inclusive ecosystem where women thrive as innovators and decision-makers. Our Women in Technology (WIT) group, one of our largest employee resource groups, champions mentorship, networking, and professional growth, ensuring women have access to the opportunities they deserve. With AI and intelligent data infrastructure reshaping the industry, it brings an incredible opportunity for women in tech. Progress isn’t just about representation, it’s about empowerment. As leaders, we must ensure equal access to skills, invest in growth, and foster an inclusive culture. When we step out of our comfort zones and uplift one another, we don’t just change the industry—we redefine it.”

Lakshmi Mittra, SVP and Head, Clover Academy
“A career in technology has been both fulfilling and transformative for me. I’ve always been fascinated by how dynamic the tech industry is—it constantly evolves, creating endless opportunities to learn and grow. This year’s International Women’s Day theme, ‘Accelerate Action,’ is a powerful reminder that progress happens when we step forward with confidence and purpose. To young women aspiring to build a career in STEM—do not be intimidated. The path ahead may have its challenges, but many women before you have walked it and paved the way. Keep learning, keep exploring, and remember—you belong here.”

Vandana Singal, Pre-sales Head – PDES, Happiest Minds Technologies
“International Women’s Day 2025 is an inspiring reminder of the amazing advancements women are creating in the technology landscape. Leadership by them isn’t about taking seats of power; it’s about promoting cooperation, driving humane innovation, and advocating for inclusion. The innovations led under women leaders propel the creation of revolutionary technologies, and their courage is inspiring the next generations of woman technologists. Let us help them to further build a fairer and technology-driven world through mentorship, resource access, and spaces in which they will be heard.”

Deepti C Moolya, Associate Director People Practice & D&I Lead, Happiest Minds Technologies
“As we mark International Women’s Day 2025, we need to go beyond gestures of acknowledgment and adopt a long-term commitment to equal opportunities. This involves a comprehensive strategy that goes beyond equal hiring practices and open promotion channels to include strong mentorship initiatives that develop talent and mentor women through their careers. We need to break down systemic barriers that block progress, and proactively foster a culture where every woman, no matter her background, feels empowered to achieve her full potential. Knowing that diverse viewpoints drive innovation, we know that our shared success is inextricably tied to the empowerment of women leaders and innovators across our organization.”

Nithya Kamakshi, Creative Head, Parent Geenee Inc.
As Creative Head in Parent Geenee, I have learned that innovation is not only about ideas, but also about the courage to actually make it happen.

Being a woman in technology comes with unique challenges: sometimes you find yourself as the only woman in the room. It’s about silencing self-doubt, ensuring your voice is heard when ideas might be overlooked, and demonstrating your capabilities repeatedly.

This journey isn’t always smooth and doubts may arise, but I reminded myself that the best ideas rarely emerge from comfort zones.

While women are actively reshaping the future of technology —creating game-changing apps, spearheading innovative AI, and resolving critical problems—certain hurdles remain… These include unconscious biases in recruiting processes, leadership barriers, and
the pressure to continuously validate our expertise.

Fortunately, many male colleagues have become powerful allies in this journey. When men in the industry actively listen, amplify women’s voices, share mentorship opportunities, and advocate for inclusive practices, we create stronger teams and better outcomes.

Women bring creative, empathetic, and fresh perspectives that make technology smarter and more inclusive. We aren’t just part of the industry, but we are vital to its engine.

This Women’s Day, I want every woman to be heard: Your voice matters; Your ideas are important; You don’t need to ask anybody’s permission to own your space—it’s already yours. Let’s continue lifting each other up, mentoring the next generation, and building
collaborative environments where women in tech not only exist, but lead. To every woman pushing boundaries in this industry: keep going. Together with our allies, we’re rewriting the rules and shaping the future.

Ms. Arati Porwal, Country Head- India, at CFA Institute
“Women’s Day is to celebrate the remarkable strides that women have made in the world. From having to fight for access to education, workplaces and rights to choice, we have come a long way. Women are breaking barriers, driving change, and reshaping leadership.

It is also a day to acknowledge that much remains to be done to close the gender gap in the industry. Our ‘Mind the Gender Gap’ report highlights that women remain significantly underrepresented in the industry In India and even in financial services, accounting for just 2 in 10 employees. BRSR data from 300 listed companies, analyzed in the report indicated that only 10% of Key Managerial positions are held by women and they earn less than 25% of their male counterparts.

It’s imperative that we move beyond awareness to action. This means challenging unconscious biases, ensuring equitable access to mentorship and sponsorship, and building flexible work environments that acknowledge the diverse roles women play. At CFA Institute, we remain committed to advancing gender diversity through initiatives such as the DEI Code in select markets, gender-focused industry research, DEI-based recruitment and training programs, mentorship programs for women charterholders, and professional development opportunities. We and our Societies firmly believe that an inclusive culture that champions diverse perspectives is key to driving stronger business outcomes, innovation, and trust in the industry. This Women’s Day, let’s reaffirm our commitment to building a future where gender equity in finance and industry is not just a goal, but a reality.”

Tejshree Madhu, Head of Business Excellence, Siemens Technology and Services Pvt. Ltd.
Today, too often, the conversation around women focuses on diversity targets rather than the real impact women are making – leading, innovating, and reshaping entire industries. Women bring fresh perspectives, challenge the status quo, and drive breakthroughs that make technology more inclusive and innovative for everyone.

At Siemens Technology and Services, I’ve had the privilege of seeing this firsthand through one such program, InnovateHer – The Women Inventor Network. It’s a movement that’s empowering women to step forward as inventors and changemakers. I’ve watched first-time innovators file patents in AI and GenAI, proving that when given the right tools, mentorship, and support, women don’t just take part in technology—they lead it.

As we celebrate Women’s Day, let’s recognize that women in tech aren’t here to ‘catch up’, they’re setting the pace and redefining what’s possible. Their contributions are shaping the future of technology in ways that benefit everyone. And that’s something worth celebrating today. And every day.

This belief has shaped my career, from leading large-scale banking transformations and optimizing core systems to mentoring aspiring technologists and advocating for greater representation of women in tech.

The future of innovation belongs to those who dare to lead, and at Fiserv, we are committed to empowering more women to do just that.”

Ruchi Agrawal, Senior Director, Global Services, Fiserv
“My first stint with coding was at school, where I enjoyed creating programs in BASIC and PASCAL, enabled by my passion for technology that was kindled by my father’s unwavering support for my studies in science and mathematics. With this foundation, I began my 20-year career as a mainframe coder and then transitioned to developing programs in front-end technologies. At Fiserv, I have not only led the transformation of online banking platforms for clients by deploying automation solutions that drive operational efficiencies, but also spearheaded initiatives to streamline processes and enhance customer experiences. Throughout my career, continuous learning has been my compass, steering my journey from basic programming endeavors to spearheading major technological initiatives.

It is heartening to see how companies today are championing inclusivity and empowering women more than ever before to thrive in the workforce. By advocating for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, these companies are fueling women’s leadership, enabling them to pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable technology industry. To young women and girls – be lifelong learners, stay updated with technology trends, and remember, your potential is limitless.

At Fiserv, we are passionate about fostering the growth of future women leaders by hiring, upskilling, and providing networking opportunities for them to thrive.”

Rekha Nair, CHRO, Tredence
“The AI industry represents a unique frontier where diversity and inclusion are creating pathways for women to excel. There has been an increased focus on diversity and inclusion in the corporate landscape, which has created opportunities for women to excel in leadership roles such as BFSI, Healthcare, Pharma etc.

While technological innovation drives our work, we recognize that true progress stems from diverse perspectives. While significant progress has been made, it is equally important to address the persistent challenges. The rapidly evolving AI landscape offers unprecedented opportunities for women to shape technological futures, emphasizing skill, creativity, and potential over demographic constraints.

As responsible organizations, we need to make conscious efforts toward building an equitable workplace where women are not only represented but also empowered. By fostering environments that value merit and provide targeted skill development, we can accelerate women’s participation in this transformative field. This includes investing in mentorship programs, providing equal growth opportunities, and actively challenging traditional workplace norms.

Our commitment is to build ecosystems where talent knows no gender – where women are integral architects of technological progress. By creating an environment where women can thrive, organizational success can be improved while contributing to a more inclusive and innovative future for the entire industry. At the heart of our approach is a belief that skill, innovation, and potential are the true determinants of success.”

Sachin Alug, CEO, NLB Services
“In the current scenario, less than half of working-age women- just 42% are part of the global workforce. This means that for every two employed men, only one woman is working. The gap further widens in tech, where women make up less than a third of the workforce, according to The World Bank. The disparity is even starker in leadership, with women holding just 18-19% of executive roles. Gender biases, lack of mentorship, and limited access to professional development continue to hinder women’s career growth, contributing to high attrition rates in tech. However, organizations are increasingly recognizing the need for a diverse workforce and are actively working to bridge the gender gap. Hence, the women’s workforce in the IT sector is expected to grow by 12% by year-end.

While the tech industry is making strides in hiring more women, the push for gender diversity is even more pronounced in Global Capability Centers (GCCs). What was once a slow shift is now gaining unstoppable momentum. For instance, in the next 12 months, 7% of GCCs expect a 50%+ surge in hiring women, while 28% anticipate a 20–50% increase, signalling a strong commitment to inclusion. Bengaluru is at the forefront, with 12% of companies projecting a 50%+ rise in women hires. Looking ahead to CY2030, 61% of GCCs expect a 50%+ increase in hiring women, and 23% foresee 20–50% growth. Delhi/NCR leads the charge, with 77% anticipating a 50%+ rise, followed by Chennai (72%) and Bengaluru (65%), reinforcing long-term diversity strategies. Hence, sustained efforts in hiring, mentorship, and leadership will ensure that diversity isn’t just an initiative but an integral part of the future tech and GCC workforce in India.”

Lalitha Duru, Vice President, CleverTap Labs
“I believe real diversity is about creating space for women to lead, innovate, and drive change. This year’s UN theme, ‘For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment,’ is a reminder that inclusion isn’t just about hiring more women but ensuring they have the opportunities, mentorship, and support to thrive. Despite the industry’s evolution, there are still gaps, particularly in financial accessibility, technical expertise, and leadership positions. Progress won’t happen by chance; companies must take proactive measures to break these barriers, foster real growth, and build a workplace where women aren’t just present but are at the forefront of shaping what’s next.”

Dr. Sangeeta Chhabra, Co-Founder & Executive Director, AceCloud
“A brand of Real Time Data Services, said, “Gender diversity in technology isn’t just a moral imperative—it’s a driver of innovation and growth. In India, Women Workforce Participation Rate in tech is set to rise to 14.9% by 2027, up from 10.8% in 2022—a clear indication of progress in bridging the gender gap. Women are steadily increasing their presence in the IT workforce, with about 23% now holding senior leadership positions, another testament to their growing influence in shaping the digital economy. This progress is fuelled by greater access to STEM education, corporate diversity initiatives, and government-backed programs aimed at empowering women in technology. Government initiatives like ‘Digital Saksharta Abhiyan,’ ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao,’ and the ‘Women in Engineering, Science, and Technology (WEST)’ programs are playing a pivotal role in ensuring more women enter and thrive in tech careers.

At AceCloud, we see technology as a powerful enabler for both individuals and businesses. Our commitment lies in building an inclusive digital space where women have access to mentorship, resources, and opportunities to advance in tech. We emphasize skill enhancement, leadership cultivation, and a workplace culture that supports work-life integration. When women thrive in technology, companies don’t just grow—they drive innovation, break barriers, and shape the future.”

Smitha Subhas, Head HR – Tech, Uber India South Asia.
“An organization’s workforce should reflect the diversity of its customer base to effectively deliver its products or services.

Incorporating women into leadership roles enriches decision-making processes with diverse perspectives, fostering a comprehensive and holistic approach. This diversity of thought introduces new methods, enhances organizational adaptability, and aligns closely with strategic business goals. Moreover, women leaders often bring distinctive styles to communication, decision-making, and problem-solving.

Women in leadership positions employ a unique perspective characterized by empathy and resilience – key attributes of exceptional leaders. They are instrumental in fostering environments that prioritize open dialogue, address unconscious biases, and uphold accountability and transparency. These efforts are crucial in cultivating an inclusive, equitable, and prosperous workplace.”

Madhushree Dutta, Head of HR, Pure Storage India
“The theme for International Women’s Day 2025, ‘Accelerate Action,’ highlights the urgency of sustained progress toward gender parity. While strides have been made, achieving true equity requires continued effort. At Pure Storage, we are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace through equitable opportunities, mentorship, coaching and leadership development. By championing diversity, we can drive meaningful change and increase women’s representation in technology and STEM, fueling innovation and progress.”

Stacia Marie Jones, Global Vice President, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Action (IDEA), Employee Relations, and Employment Policy & Compliance.
Empowering women in the workplace isn’t just about increasing representation—it’s about building cultures where they can truly thrive, lead, and shape the future. When inclusion, diversity, equity, and action are woven into the fabric of an organization, every voice is heard, valued, and has the power to drive meaningful change.

That is what we are doing at lululemon. We are a company proud to employ and be led by majority women. We have a program called Women Of that empowers women throughout our organization whose professional advancement is uniquely shaped by racial, cultural, or ethnic experiences. We offer professional development and career coaching and mentoring to all women. We have networks for women, Global Women’s People Network and Women in Tech, to provide safe spaces for our women to be motivated and enriched. Workplaces that foster these values create environments where people feel supported to bring their full selves to work—unlocking innovation, collaboration, and long-term success.

Mr. Manmeet Singh, CEO, FirstMeridian Global Services and Innovsource
“On International Women’s Day, it’s important to recognize the significant strides women are making across industries in India, especially in retail, the gig economy, and other rapidly evolving sectors like e-commerce and supply chain logistics. In India, women account for 30% of the organised retail workforce, and this number is expected to grow as companies prioritize diversity. However, challenges like gender pay gaps and limited leadership representation persist, with women holding only 15% of executive roles in retail.

The rise of the gig economy is providing more women with flexible work options, with over 25% of gig workers in India being women. This shift offers greater work-life balance, yet issues like job insecurity and unequal pay continue to need attention. Globally, women make up 42% of the online gig economy, highlighting the role flexibility plays in empowering women.

In sectors like human resource outsourcing, supply chain, and healthcare, women are increasingly taking leadership positions. Women now represent 20% of the workforce in India’s supply chain sector, and in healthcare, they account for 24% of employees. Despite these advancements, women still face barriers in advancing to senior positions, especially in tech-driven sectors.

To achieve true gender equality, businesses must take actionable steps: focus on pay parity, create mentorship programs, establish leadership pathways, and invest in inclusive policies. We must continue to dismantle the barriers that hinder women’s progress, ensuring they have equal opportunities to lead, innovate, and thrive in every sector.”

Keerthana Srikanth, Senior Software Engineer, Confluent
“While there have been efforts to improve gender diversity in tech over the past few years, finding a sense of belonging can still be a challenge sometimes. It is not rare to be the only woman in a meeting room, nor to have very few women in leadership positions around you. This can translate into deeper issues – from recognition and compensation to subtle biases in day-to-day interactions. As we look towards the future of technology, especially AI, we must be intentional about ensuring equity and inclusivity. Careful efforts would be needed to ensure that unintentional biases in AI models do not have adverse effects in the workplace.

For women in tech, my advice is to surround yourself with people that help and support your career aspirations. Reach out for help, actively find mentors, and don’t be afraid to ask for feedback or guidance. Believe in yourself – have faith in your skills and your ability to learn and grow. Advocate for yourself when it comes to compensation, promotions, and opportunities. Remember, working in tech isn’t about fitting into some predefined mold. What matters most are problem-solving skills, sound computer science knowledge, communication skills, and creativity. Additionally, the industry as a whole must work together to ensure organizational policies and cultures support women in taking such initiatives. Creating truly inclusive and equitable workplaces requires persistent effort from all stakeholders.”

Eduarda Camacho, Chief Operating Officer at CyberArk.
“International Women’s Day is a powerful reminder of the importance of self-belief and rejecting limiting stereotypes. During my first tech job interview, I was told that, despite my strong work experience, being a foreign woman without a background in engineering would hold me back. But my heritage and gender are strengths, not weaknesses, and they do not define my career. Strength and ability are not bound by gender. This year’s theme, Accelerating Action, reinforces that collective effort drives workplace equality. By supporting one another, amplifying each other’s voices, and working towards breaking down these barriers, we can build a more inclusive and equitable world for all.”

Apoorva Deep, co-founder of itch
“Action isn’t about grand gestures; it’s about everyday decisions that move the needle. In advertising, and any industry, really real change happens when more women don’t just enter the room but shape the conversation. It’s about making leadership the norm, not the exception.
Our industry is built on moving pieces… brands, narratives, people, and it only gets stronger when diverse perspectives lead the way. The real acceleration? It’s not just about more seats at the table; it’s about ensuring those seats come with a voice that’s heard, valued, and truly makes a difference.”

Tina Singh, HR Director at Clavrit
“True progress happens when women are empowered to lead, innovate, and shape the future. It’s not just about creating opportunities—it’s about recognizing the strength, intelligence, and resilience that women bring to every field. When diverse voices are heard, industries thrive, and real change takes place.

To every woman striving to make an impact—believe in your abilities, embrace challenges, and never let doubt hold you back. Success isn’t just about breaking barriers for yourself but also about lifting others along the way. Support one another, celebrate each milestone, and keep pushing forward with confidence.

When women uplift each other, we don’t just break glass ceilings—we build a stronger, more inclusive world for generations to come.”

Geetanjli Dhanjal, Managing Director at Yantra – A Riveron Company
“Women in technology are not just part of the story—they’re writing the future. As visionaries, leaders, and changemakers, they are driving innovation, breaking barriers, and reshaping industries. The growing presence of women in tech reflects a broader movement toward inclusion and empowerment. By 2026, women’s workforce participation in India’s tech sector is expected to reach 14.9%, up from 10.8% in 2022, and it’s growing at an annual rate of 5.5%, according to a report by TeamLease Digital. But true progress isn’t just about representation—it’s about ensuring women don’t just enter a particular field but thrive, lead, and revolutionize the profession. To make this a reality, organizations must take meaningful action to create an environment where women can succeed. This means fostering inclusive workplace cultures that actively challenge biases, ensuring fair hiring and promotion practices, and offering equal pay. And, to help women advance in their careers, it’s essential to have flexible work policies and robust support systems, such as mentorship programs and leadership training. More holistically, when workplaces and communities invest in STEM education, upskilling initiatives, and return-to-work programs, then greater numbers of women can be equipped with the necessary tools to excel in the ever-evolving tech sector. When organizations commit to these changes, they not only support women but also drive progress across the entire industry. A truly innovative future will depend on equal participation by everyone—and that future starts now.”

Ajay Sawant, Chairman and Managing Director, Orient Technologies Limited
“An inclusive tech industry begins with empowering women to grow, lead, and innovate. Their contributions—whether driving AI advancements or shaping strategic decisions—are invaluable. But true progress goes beyond representation; it’s about creating an environment where women can thrive, break barriers, and redefine success. Achieving gender diversity requires decisive action. Upskilling and reskilling enable women to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving industry, while investing in STEM education, especially in India, nurtures the next generation of women technologists. At Orient Technologies, our 2nd Inning program has been instrumental in supporting and uplifting women in tech, providing them with the resources and opportunities to re-enter and excel in the industry. A stronger, more diverse future in tech begins with a continued commitment to empowering women at every stage of their journey.”

Kumar Mitra, Managing Director and Regional General Manager, CAP & ANZ, Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group
“2025 is a pivotal year for tech, with companies redefining hiring strategies and deepening their commitment to diversity. While global trends set the pace, India has the opportunity to lead—placing inclusion and innovation at the heart of progress.

Diversity isn’t just valuable—it’s essential. Different perspectives fuel innovation and growth. As India’s tech sector transforms, businesses are creating more opportunities for women to thrive. At Lenovo, women have long been a driving force. Our Women in Lenovo Leadership (WILL) ERG has expanded globally, offering resources for women in tech, support for new mothers, and initiatives for those navigating menopause. These networks foster mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and empowerment—strengthening both our workforce and the industry.

International Women’s Day reminds us that progress is a journey. At Lenovo, we believe in Smarter Technology for All, where diverse voices shape the future. As we celebrate this year’s theme, ‘For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment,’ we remain committed to fostering a culture where everyone can make an impact and drive the breakthroughs that define our digital future.”

Kavitha K. Rao, Engineering Project Manager at SBM Offshore India
“Separate and equal are two different things.” These words by Dorothy Vaughan, a pioneering NASA mathematician, remind us that progress isn’t just about opportunity—it’s about action. Women have made remarkable strides in science, technology, and leadership, but true equality is an ongoing journey that requires self-belief, persistence, and strong support systems.
In my own journey I have navigated career ambitions while balancing family responsibilities. Through mentorship, continuous learning, and proactive career planning, I have realized that success is not about choosing between roles but about integrating them with confidence. SBM Offshore fosters an environment where women are empowered through leadership programs, hands-on experience, and an inclusive culture that levels the playing field.
To aspiring women in tech: set clear goals, seek mentorship, embrace challenges, and never hesitate to ask for opportunities. True empowerment comes not just from standing tall but from lifting others along the way. When we uplift ourselves, we create a future where diversity and innovation thrive together.

Radhika M Bahl – Assurance Leader – EMEIA, EY Global Delivery Services India
“In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, embracing technology is essential to staying ahead of the curve. As women leaders, we have a unique opportunity to drive inclusivity in tech, so that diverse perspectives shape the innovations of tomorrow. By continuously upskilling and fostering a culture of agility and lifelong learning, we can navigate disruption and position ourselves to not only manage change but to lead it. I would recommend everyone to embrace technology – it can open doors, break barriers and give us a distinctive edge. At EY, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where, together, we shape the future with confidence and every woman shall excel.”

Dipali Padia, Director of Business Development, Neokred
At Neokred, we believe that true empowerment begins with equal opportunities for all women and girls. The UN’s theme, ‘For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.’ highlights the need for a world where women are not just participants but leaders shaping the future. Real progress happens when women have access to education, financial independence, and leadership roles. By fostering diversity, removing barriers, and creating an inclusive environment, we can ensure that every woman has the resources and support to achieve her ambitions. A truly empowered society is one where gender is never a limitation—only potential waiting to be realized.

Ashwini Jayant Patil, Senior Engineering Manager, R Systems
“I’ve watched many talented women doubt their right to speak up—not because they lacked the skill, but because they weren’t certain if they belonged. ‘Accelerate Action’ is a reminder that real change comes from breaking down those barriers, both seen and unseen. It means asking the uncomfortable questions: Why do women hold back? Where are the hidden hurdles? And how can we eliminate them?
When we invest in mentoring, refining outdated policies, and building clear career pathways, we create real empowerment. This isn’t about a once-a-year spotlight; it’s about everyday progress. If we want real change, we must stop assuming the field is level and start actively leveling it. Our commitment should be to listen, to act, and to ensure opportunity is defined by ability, not gender.”

Prattusha Chakraborty, Manager Data Analytics, Publicis Sapient
“Empowerment starts from within—women must believe they belong at the table, have the confidence to take their seat, and recognize that equality is their right, not a privilege. But belief thrives in the right environment; as a society, we must create pathways that inspire women to see their potential, seize opportunities, and contribute meaningfully. In the tech industry, diversity isn’t just a checkbox—it’s a catalyst for innovation, bringing fresh perspectives that drive progress for everyone. When women rise, industries evolve, economies flourish, and societies prosper. Together, we can build a future where every woman and girl stand tall—not as an exception, but as a natural part of the world’s success story.”

Romita Mukherjee, Head of People and Culture, Whatfix
“Inclusivity goes beyond being just an idea—it’s a mindset that drives real change. True empowerment happens when women and girls have equal access to knowledge, opportunities to innovate, and pathways to leadership. While STEM education plays a crucial role in breaking down barriers, gender disparities still exist. Initiatives like Udaan, the Pragati Scholarship, and the National Education Policy 2020 have expanded access, but lasting change requires organizations to take intentional steps—investing in mentorship, leadership development, and equitable workplace practices.

At Whatfix, diversity isn’t just something we advocate for—it’s embedded in our culture. We create environments where women in tech and STEM aren’t just included but empowered to lead. Through dedicated employee resource groups, career growth programs, and inclusive workplace policies, we provide the tools and support women need to thrive, advance, and leave a lasting impact. By promoting equal opportunities and challenging biases, we are shaping a future where success is driven by talent, not gender

This International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our dedication to building a more equitable world. When businesses empower women, industries advance, economies grow, and communities flourish.”

Kathy Chou, SVP, Global Leader, GTM, SaaS Engineering, and Board Member.
At Nutanix, we’re developing people and building careers, not just cloud-native solutions. I see mentorship as a crucial tool for empowering others. We often undervalue qualities/strengths like striving for excellence, empathy, and collaboration, but these are powerful assets. Mentoring mentees in these areas has helped them build confidence, improve their skills, and progress within the organization. By fostering teamwork and understanding, mentorship has empowered them to grow and thrive in their roles. The cloud-native world demands adaptability, so I help mentees prioritize and embrace continuous learning. My own mentors instilled in me a passion for this field and helped me develop my leadership skills which I am fortunate to employ at Nutanix every day.

Jharna Thammaiah , Director & India site People & Places Leader, Intuit
Reflecting on my own journey, I remember the invaluable guidance I have received from mentors and coaches who believed in my potential. As a more experienced professional and HR leader now, I am grateful for the guidance that came in at some very critical and pivotal times in my career and life which influenced many of my decisions and I’m committed to paying it forward.
Mentoring emerging talent fosters confidence and unlocks potential, creating a dynamic and inclusive future. It’s not just a “nice-to-have,” but a critical investment in building future leaders. Through networks like Tech Women@Intuit and the Intuit Women’s Network, we facilitate mentorship, providing resources and platforms for women to thrive.
A common challenge I’ve observed is a lack of clarity and focus among mentees, often fixated on milestones like promotions. Effective mentoring involves helping them clarify their “why” and “what,” building a stronger foundation for their development. Trust-based, objective mentoring brings unique perspectives, experiences, and skills, driving impactful growth.
The joy of witnessing a mentee’s success is truly rewarding. This reinforces my belief in the enduring value of mentorship and coaching, and my commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders.

Akkineni Keerthi , Co-Founder, Innopay Technologies
“Access to financial tools and education is crucial for breaking barriers and empowering women to take control of their financial futures. This International Women’s Day, I am proud to stand with Innopay in our commitment to accelerating progress toward financial independence for women. Financial empowerment goes beyond money—it’s about instilling the confidence to make informed decisions, invest in personal potential, and contribute meaningfully to the economy. Together, we can build a world where every woman has the opportunity to thrive financially and achieve her dreams. Let’s take action and make financial independence a reality for all women.”

Priya Krishnamurthy, Director – Commercial Sales, Acer India.

Chandrakala Bobba, Director, Bobba Group
“This International Women’s Day, embracing the theme ‘Accelerate Action,’ we acknowledge that while progress in gender inclusion within logistics is evident, true equity demands persistent, decisive measures. Women have showcased their expertise in supply chain management, cargo operations, and leadership, yet challenges in access, representation, and career advancement remain. This transformation requires unwavering commitment from organizations, leaders, and industry stakeholders—not merely opening doors, but actively empowering women to walk through them. When women lead, the logistics sector evolves into a more innovative, resilient, and forward-thinking industry. Now is the moment to drive tangible actions that accelerate gender equality, forging a future-ready industry where every woman can lead and succeed.”

Radhika Subramanian, Director of Finance at Ennoventure, Inc.
“The theme ‘Accelerate Action’ calls for urgent and meaningful steps toward gender equality, recognizing that progress is only possible when women are empowered as leaders, innovators and changemakers. Studies consistently show that organizations embracing gender diversity are more resilient, forward-thinking and successful. A report by the World Economic Forum highlights that closing gender gaps in economic participation could boost global GDP by $28 trillion by 2025, making it an undeniable testament to the power of inclusive growth.

Women bring unique perspectives that drive innovation, encourage collaboration, and create lasting impact. Their leadership is not just beneficial; it is essential for sustainable progress. At Ennoventure, Inc., we believe that accelerating action means creating real opportunities for women to thrive, breaking barriers, and championing equitable access to leadership and growth.

This International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing gender parity, promoting an environment where women can lead with confidence, and inspiring collective action to build a more inclusive, prosperous future for all.”

Tiffany Chan, Co-Founder and COO, Pantherun Technologies
“Women have always been resilient, strong, and capable of shaping the world around them. It’s inspiring to see more women today pursuing their interests fearlessly, breaking outdated stereotypes, and driving progress in every field. While we’ve made meaningful strides toward gender equality, the journey continues.

This year’s theme, ‘Accelerate Action for Gender Equality,’ is a powerful call to push forward with bold, decisive steps. By challenging bias, dismantling barriers, and creating more opportunities, we can foster a future where women thrive, in all fields including technologies like cybersecurity and data protection, where diversity strengthens innovation.

At Pantherun Technologies, we believe that true progress comes from action, not just intention. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace, championing mentorship, and ensuring that talent—not gender—defines opportunity. Our focus on gender equality isn’t just about fairness; it’s about building a stronger, more secure digital world where diverse perspectives drive meaningful breakthroughs.”

Sevonne Eliyahu, Chief Revenue Officer, Onebeat
“Women have always been a driving force in the retail industry, making up 60% of its workforce. Despite their significant presence, few hold leadership roles, limiting their influence on decisions that shape a key consumer base – women. Increasing female representation in decision-making positions will bring diverse perspectives to the table and help retail tech companies address intricate consumer challenges across all genders.

As technology and AI reshape the industry, bridging the gap between businesses’ perception of consumers and their actual needs is more critical than ever. Globally, women make up just 22% of the AI workforce. Given their pivotal role in retail and tech growth, advancing women into leadership is not just about inclusivity —it will also drive consumer-centric innovation and industry-wide progress.

International Women’s Day is an opportunity to address these gaps. In line with this year’s theme of unlocking equal rights, power and opportunities, intentional efforts must be made to uplift women. Policies focusing on tech upskilling, training and mentorship can drive meaningful change, leading to better consumer-centric practices and a more equitable future.”

Suvarna Nikam, Global HR Head, Visionet Systems
“Progress on gender equity and inclusivity demands more than intent—it calls for fast-paced action, clear goals with measurable impact, committed tracking, and above all, an unapologetic drive to learn and grow. We must start early, cultivate strong internal sponsors and champions across our teams and organization, and foster a culture of shared learning.

At Visionet, we believe the most powerful inspiration comes from within. Through platforms like Women of Visionet, we provide a safe space for our people to share their stories—stories that are often more impactful, relatable, and actionable than those seen across the larger industry. By learning from one another, we accelerate progress and drive meaningful change. Real change happens when we lead by example, transforming ambition into decisive action and tangible outcomes. This International Women’s Day, let’s not just celebrate—let’s accelerate action!”

Anjali Mahajan, Vice President, Customer Business Services, Amdocs
The tech industry, including in India, has made notable progress in gender inclusivity and the percentage of women representation has improved over the years. But the pace of this progress remains slow, and the challenges persist. Systemic barriers such as unconscious bias in hiring, inadequate mentorship opportunities, pay disparity and rigid workplace policies continue to limit the potential of a truly diverse workforce. The underrepresentation of women becomes even more pronounced as they transition from entry-level to management roles, creating a ripple effect that impacts the entire ecosystem.
The need to address these challenges is now more crucial than ever, especially as companies prepare to embrace transformative technologies like generative AI. Workplace policies must evolve to reflect modern realities – raising awareness about gender bias, providing structured mentorship and sponsorship programs, championing male allyship, implementing flexible work arrangements and equitable parental leave, and clear career progression pathways.

To be truly progressive, organizations must prioritize skilling initiatives, especially investing in GenAI education and training, and drive inclusive hiring and mentorship initiatives. At Amdocs, we have taken a significant step in this direction with Career-Hub, an AI-driven platform designed to assess candidates based on skills rather than job titles or personal identifiers. By removing details such as names, gender, universities, and age, the platform eliminates unconscious bias in hiring, creating a more level playing field for both internal and external recruitment.

Renu Shekhawat, Director & Head of HR, APAC at Pitney Bowes
In today’s dynamic business landscape, upskilling and leadership development programs are essential for equipping women with the skills and confidence needed to excel in senior and executive roles. Achieving true leadership inclusion requires dismantling systemic barriers through structured mentorship, leadership training, and access to advanced technical education.

Organizations need to adopt comprehensive career development programs to support women’s growth and leadership aspirations. Pitney Bowes has curated initiatives providing targeted support to women in technology. Our structured mentorship program is crucial in providing guidance and support, helping women navigate their career paths, overcome challenges, strengthen their business acumen, enhance their enterprise knowledge and prepare for senior roles. Leadership training equips them with the skills and confidence they need, while access to advanced technical education ensures they remain at the cutting edge of industry developments. Networking opportunities are essential for career advancement, enabling women to build professional relationships and gain visibility within the industry.

Our Young Talent Development Program provides essential guidance and skills for sustained success. Additionally, our Relaunch Pad helps women re-enter the workforce after a career break, offering adaptation and upskilling support. Continuous learning opportunities are vital for women at all career stages, focusing on retention and leadership progression.

By cultivating an environment where women are consistently heard, supported, actively mentored, and empowered to lead, organizations can harness their full potential while also enhancing organizational performance, innovation, and growth

Laura Heisman, CMO, Dynatrace
“Women are underrepresented in the technology industry. To accelerate change, more effort must be made to create a support system that exposes women to the different careers available in tech, recruits them into these roles, and then enables mentorship throughout their careers.

We are in a time of rapidly evolving technology – 85% of jobs that will exist in 2030 have not even been created yet. AI presents an incredible opportunity to take twists and turn in a career path, and a linear route throughout your career journey cannot be the norm moving forward.

It is also one of the biggest opportunities for women – those starting their careers and those in later stages of their careers. It’s critical that we invest as much in the human potential of women in their future career paths as we invest in the potential of AI.

This investment will benefit innovation, businesses, and society.”

Indrani Chatterjee, Group Chief Human Resources Officer, Allcargo Group
Women continue to break barriers, making significant strides in both personal and professional spheres. This year’s theme of International Women’s Day ‘Accelerate Action’ underlines the need to further strengthen the mission and reiterates the call for a true level-playing field. Organizations and society must prioritize equity over equality to create truly inclusive environments. Rather than seeking uniformity across genders, the focus should be on ensuring fair opportunities, resources, and support tailored to individual needs, fostering a more sustainable and impactful change.

In the logistics industry, companies are moving beyond traditional norms and working towards dismantling the perceived notions, leading to a steady increase in the representation of women professionals in the workforce. The stage is now set to accelerate the shift towards a more holistic approach to gender diversity and inclusion by embedding inclusivity into hiring practices, organisational guidelines and leadership development initiatives. By implementing these strategic action plans and leveraging advanced tools and technologies, the industry will further empower women professionals, ensuring they play leadership roles in shaping its future.

Mr.Narayanam Sesha Srikanth, Head of Human Resources, Allcargo GATI Ltd
Our commitment to gender diversity is more than just a policy; it’s a core value that drives our success. At Allcargo GATI, we believe that fostering an inclusive work environment leads to greater innovation, productivity, and a stronger organizational culture. Our all-women shifts across 8 + facilities stand as a testament to this commitment, providing women with safer, structured, and growth-oriented opportunities in the logistics sector. These initiatives not only encourage higher workforce participation but also empower women to take on leadership roles within the industry.

Allcargo GATI remains dedicated to advancing gender equality in the workplace, recognizing that such efforts are an integral part of the company’s overall success and long-term growth. With a clear vision to achieve 40% gender diversity in lower and mid-management and 30% in top management by 2040, we are continuously investing in upskilling, mentorship, and leadership programs for women.

At Allcargo GATI, diversity and inclusion are not just goals—they are the foundation of our future.

Chhaya Sharma, Head of HR, axio
“Advancing gender equality in the workplace is not just the right thing to do—it is a powerful driver of innovation and business success. True progress comes when organizations move beyond intent and take deliberate actions to create an environment where women can lead, excel, and thrive.

At axio, we believe diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are essential for building a future-ready workplace. We foster a system of equal opportunity—through transparent career progression, bias-free hiring, and policies that support work-life balance.”

Arppna Mehra, Vice President, Human Resources, Honeywell India
“An inclusive workplace is one where every voice is heard, every idea is considered, and every individual has the opportunity to contribute meaningfully. By embedding DEI into our culture, we are not only empowering women but also strengthening our collective ability to drive innovation, resilience, and long-term success.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, Honeywell remains committed to taking meaningful steps toward gender equality. Through our STEM education initiatives, we equip young girls in schools and colleges with essential skills to excel in science, technology and engineering careers—fields where women have historically been underrepresented. Our Sustainable & Holistic Community Development programs take a well-rounded approach to empowerment by providing rural women with access to education, healthcare, WASH facilities, and livelihood opportunities. We understand that achieving gender equality requires addressing multiple, interconnected challenges rather than isolated efforts.

Honeywell also fosters diversity in engineering through our partnership with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), actively recruiting talented women engineers to ensure our workforce reflects the inclusivity we advocate for. This collaboration not only enhances our technical expertise but also paves the way for more women to thrive in engineering. The consequences of inaction extend beyond gender imbalance—they impact innovation, productivity, and global competitiveness. Accelerate Action reaffirms our commitment to creating lasting change, reshaping opportunities for women in technology and beyond.”

Romita Mukherjee, Head of People and Culture, Whatfix

At Whatfix, diversity isn’t just something we advocate for—it’s embedded in our culture. We create environments where women in tech and STEM aren’t just included but empowered to lead. Through dedicated employee resource groups, career growth programs, and inclusive workplace policies, we provide the tools and support women need to thrive, advance, and leave a lasting impact. By promoting equal opportunities and challenging biases, we are shaping a future where success is driven by talent, not gender.

This International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our dedication to building a more equitable world. When businesses empower women, industries advance, economies grow, and communities flourish.

Kirthan Meril Dsouza, Head, Strategy & Transformation in HR, Tata Elxsi
“In today’s industrial environment that is categorized by unprecedented technological transformation, skilling and upskilling are not just options but imperatives—especially for women in tech. As emerging technologies like AI, cloud computing, and automation reshape industries, women must be equipped with the right skills to stay ahead of the curve and lead the future of innovation.

I believe that diversity in technology drives better solutions, and empowering women through continuous learning is key to achieving this. It is important to accelerate action by investing in upskilling programs, mentorship initiatives, and inclusive workplace policies that ensure women have equal opportunities to grow, innovate, and lead in a dynamic digital world.

In organizations, we must actively foster a culture where learning never stops. By providing access to advanced training, reskilling initiatives, and leadership development, we can break barriers and enable more women to thrive in technology-driven roles.

Future readiness is about adaptability, and this comes from knowledge. By embracing lifelong learning, women can harness new-age technologies to drive meaningful change, not just for themselves but for society as a whole. A tech-powered future is inclusive only when every aspiring woman professional has the skills, confidence, and opportunities to make an impact.”

Ms. Anupama Katkar, Chief of Operational Excellence at Quick Heal and Chairperson of Quick Heal Foundation.
“Giving back to society is something I am deeply passionate about, especially when it comes to empowering women. Women are natural leaders—balancing multiple roles at home and work, navigating challenges with resilience and adaptability. It is imperative that they harness the opportunities available today, stepping into spaces where their voices and skills can make a lasting impact.

The digital era demands that we not only equip women with technical expertise but also instill the confidence to lead. At Quick Heal Foundation, we launched Cyber Shiksha for Cyber Suraksha to address this very need. Through initiatives like Earn and Learn, we are accelerating action to train young women in cybersecurity awareness and public speaking, empowering them to educate their communities while gaining financial independence. This dual approach—skill-building and economic upliftment—has opened doors for countless women across both rural and urban landscapes.

When a woman understands how to safeguard her digital identity, she becomes a role model, inspiring others to follow. To me, being future-ready means creating ecosystems where women don’t just participate but thrive. We must actively dismantle barriers—whether through mentorship, accessible resources, or policies that support work-life balance. Every woman trained today is a step toward a more inclusive and equitable digital future”.

As the world marks International Women’s Day, the spotlight shines on the transformative power of talent in building intelligent security systems through AI and cybersecurity. These fields are witnessing an unprecedented surge in demand, and it’s talent and not gender that drives success. India is a leader in the AI space, with initiatives like FutureSkills PRIME and NASSCOM’s Women in Technology program encouraging women to upskill in AI and cybersecurity. The government’s Digital India Mission further amplifies these efforts, aiming to create a tech-savvy, gender-agnostic workforce. With government and industry pushing for inclusivity, India will be emerging as a global AI leader. Programs encouraging women in tech ensure the nation harnesses all talent to secure a smarter future. Ultimately, building intelligent security systems demands the best minds, regardless of gender. Organizations have a responsibility to champion talent, ensuring women and men alike thrive. As Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Meta, said “In the future, there will be no female leaders. There will just be leaders.”

Zaiba Sarang, the Co-Founder of iThink Logistics
As women juggle multiple roles—professionals, caregivers, leaders, and more—finding the right work-life balance is crucial. Prioritizing mental and physical well-being isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. Simple hacks like setting clear boundaries, scheduling ‘me-time,’ and embracing delegation can make a huge difference. Remember, productivity thrives when you’re at your best, not when you’re overworked. A well-balanced life fuels long-term success and happiness.

Mr. Sunil Gupta, COO, Vedanta Aluminium.
At Vedanta Aluminium, fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace is central to our success. The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day, #AccelerateAction, aligns seamlessly with our campaign, Shakti se Pragati, where the strength of women fuels transformative action and drives meaningful change. With 50% female representation in fresher hiring, we are on track to achieve 30% female representation across our workforce by 2030, empowering women to lead the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Our commitment to gender diversity is reflected in various initiatives like year-long childcare leave, flexible work arrangements, spouse hiring, and first-ever night shift approval for women in Odisha under Project Shree Shakti. These initiatives are breaking long-standing barriers in core functions like smelting, mining, power generation, logistics and finance. As the metals and mining sector is evolving with Industry 4.0, automation and sustainability-driven innovations, we are actively bridging the gender gap and creating high growth opportunities for women in modern manufacturing, energy transition and beyond.”

Serine Loh, Head of Culture & Talent, APAC, Qlik
“At Qlik, equity isn’t just a goal—it’s a commitment we uphold every day. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture where women from all backgrounds have the support, opportunities, and resources to thrive. Through initiatives like Women in Technology, equitable pay policies, mentorship programs, and our Diversity Scorecard, we hold ourselves accountable for building a more balanced and fair workplace.

Women are a cornerstone of growth and innovation in companies worldwide, yet systemic barriers persists across industries. We remain committed to driving meaningful action toward gender equity, ensuring that every woman has the opportunity to grow. According to the World Economic Forum, the global gender gap has narrowed marginally by just 0.1 percentage points—from 68.5% to 68.6%, this progress demands greater urgency and action. Achieving true equity requires continuous effort—ensuring women have a seat at the table, their voices heard, and their contributions valued. At Qlik, we take pride in championing gender equality by creating leadership pathways, supporting working caregivers with flexible policies, and collaborating with global organizations to drive lasting change.

This International Women’s Day, we are not only envisioning a more inclusive future – we are taking action to make it a reality.”

Ms. Vijeta Soni (Co-Founder & CEO, Sciative Solutions)
“Women entrepreneurs are not just constructing businesses, but also reshaping entire industries, pioneering new innovations, and driving large-scale impact. The quest is not merely about shattering glass ceilings; it is about rebuilding the very framework of opportunities for generations to come. With the advent of AI and technology, we are witnessing a transformative era where more women are taking the lead in disrupting and owning the future.
Notably, women in the tech industry are adopting generative AI tools at a faster rate than their male counterparts—44% compared to 33%—and they also represent approximately 20-30% of the global AI workforce. This underscores the power of resilience, the willingness to challenge norms, and the vision to turn bold ideas into reality. Today, we celebrate every woman who dares to dream big and works relentlessly to achieve those goals.”

Yukti Gill – Co-Founder & MD, Satyukt Analytics
“Women entrepreneurs are breaking barriers and redefining industries with innovation, resilience, and vision. The journey of building and leading a business is full of challenges, but it also offers the power to create real and meaningful impact. At Satyukt Analytics, we firmly believe in harnessing data-driven insights to drive change, and this principle also guides how we lead. Decisions backed by knowledge and purpose create true transformation. This Women’s Day, let’s celebrate the spirit of women who dare to dream, build, and inspire. The future of entrepreneurship is vibrant, dynamic, and driven by bold women blazing smart and sustainable new trails.”

Neha Batra – Head – Underwriting (WRMS Global)
“Today, on this Women’s Day, I wish to celebrate the power of resilience, passion, and innovation that women bring to every field. In my experience within the risk management and insurance data-driven worlds, I’ve seen how differing perspectives help to shape progress. As women, we have the ability to bring together rigorous analytical thinking with innovative problem-solving into solutions that empower as well as protect. Collectively, we continue to break barriers, innovate, and inspire future generations to take on leadership roles in the industries that most need our voices at this moment.”

Ms. Surbhi Bajaj, Director & Co-Founder, Volt Capital Private Limited (Volt Energy)
On this International Women’s Day, let us take time to acknowledge the important role women play in building a sustainable and inclusive future. Sadly, while the renewable energy sector poses vast potential, women’s participation therein remains low because of outdated gender norms. While increasing women’s involvement is important for equality, it also provides a pathway to human progress. Women usher in new ideas, foster innovation, and create inclusive solutions. Breaking barriers and confronting stereotypes enables lasting change to be realized. When women rise, industries change and communities gain. There is a need, therefore, to ensure that we all commit ourselves to paving the way and supporting spaces where women’s voices are heard, and passion is maximized.

Anjali Joneja Amar, Country Head and Vice President, India and SAARC, Cloudflare

Madhu Lunawat, Managing Director, The Wealth Company.
“As we celebrate Women’s Day, it’s time to recognize and reinforce a fundamental truth—women deserve to command what they are worth, not just in recognition but in financial empowerment. Money isn’t just about earning; it’s about having the confidence to negotiate, challenge unfair terms, and demand what’s rightfully yours—whether it’s your salary, business funding, or financial agreements.

From small enterprises to large-scale ventures, women are reshaping industries, proving that financial independence is the backbone of true empowerment. Yet, the gap remains—many women hesitate to negotiate, whether it’s for better pay, funding, or business opportunities.

The financial world rewards those who question, compare, and demand more. If you don’t advocate for yourself, someone else benefits at your expense. This Women’s Day, let’s break the cycle. Let’s encourage every woman—whether in boardrooms, startups, or self-help groups—to take charge, challenge norms, and never settle for less. Because when women rise, India rises.”

Dr. Alka Kapur – Principal, Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh
Education is the foundation of empowerment, and for young girls, it holds the key to unlocking infinite possibilities. It is not just about acquiring knowledge but about building confidence, independence, and the courage to dream big. Every challenge along the way is an opportunity to grow stronger and more determined.
Believing in oneself is the first step to success. The world may present obstacles, but with resilience and a fearless attitude, nothing is impossible. Leadership and learning go hand in hand—girls who dare to take charge of their own journey will pave the way for future generations.
This Women’s Day, let every girl student remember that she carries immense potential within her. With perseverance, dedication, and a passion for learning, she can break barriers, defy stereotypes, and create a brighter future—not just for herself, but for society as a whole. Keep striving, keep shining, because the world needs your brilliance!

Sivareena Sarika, VP and Business Head, Strategic Initiatives at MediBuddy
“The future of technology is only as strong as the diversity of those shaping it. As innovation accelerates, upskilling women in tech is not just an opportunity—it’s a necessity. With only 28% of tech roles occupied by women, we must bridge this gap by equipping them with not just technical expertise but also leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills. True progress happens when women are not just participants but leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers in the industry.

Inclusion fuels innovation. A diverse workforce leads to more ethical AI, stronger cybersecurity, and a digital future that serves everyone. But upskilling alone isn’t enough. Companies must ensure equal pay, flexible work environments, and inclusive leadership to retain top female talent. Unconscious bias still limits women’s growth, hiring them for past experience while men are hired for potential. It’s time to change that.

We must accelerate action—mentorship and sponsorship are game changers. Women with strong mentors rise faster, and organisations must champion their careers, actively connecting them with leaders who advocate for their success. The resources are there—programs, communities, and government initiatives. The key is for women to seize them, for companies to invest in them, and for the industry to embrace them. The future is inclusive, and it starts now.”

Pallavi Katiyar, Chief Information Officer (CIO), Tech Mahindra
“Women in leadership bring a powerful mix of intelligence, empathy, and innovation—critical for today’s complex business landscape. As we embrace this year’s IWD theme, fostering gender diversity through leadership programs and mentorship becomes even more crucial. With continuous efforts and support, these actions will drive a revolution, making opportunities in technology more inclusive, holistic, and impactful.”

Srividhya Deshpande, Vice President, Global Talent Management, Egen
“This International Women’s Day at Egen, we are not just celebrating; we are Accelerating Action to drive real change. When we focus on diversity growth, we uplift the workplace and the entire community. Gender inclusion is not just a right thing to do – It is a business imperative.
I believe action speaks louder than words, and I am proud to see us prioritizing impactful initiatives this month. Throughout March, we are going beyond a single day of recognition. From celebrating the strength and diversity of our team through our #EgenAcceleratesAction campaign to AMAs (Ask Me Anything) with women leaders and discussions on building inclusive workplaces, we’re fostering open dialogue and taking tangible steps toward gender equality.
Creating an inclusive workplace is a continuous journey, and every step we take brings us closer to real, lasting change.”

Ayushi Arora Gulyani, Founder & CEO of Media Corridors
On this Women’s Day, I want to talk about female power in today’s world as the power of business leadership and effective communication. Communication is both verbal and non-verbal, and it gives people a platform on which to be heard, relationships to be built, and prejudices to be abolished. It is a show against those who hinder any woman from speaking up, being listened to, and even feared. The modern women in technology and entrepreneurship, as in any other profession, must balance their career and personal life and find ways to create opportunities for personal and career development at the same time. Therefore, women should learn and master the art of communication to lead and be effective in their dealings, be heard for a good cause, and create chances that are likely to open new frontiers.

Ritvika Naidu, Chairperson Prabhu Naidu Ltd
“Every woman who dares to dream and build something of her own strengthens Nari Shakti, bringing India closer to Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Today, women-led MSMEs account for 20.5% of all registered MSMEs in India, contributing 18.73% to employment and generating over 10% of the total turnover. The women-led businesses of our country are shaping industries, fostering innovation, and strengthening local economies. With 70.49% of informal micro-enterprises also led by women, the momentum for inclusive growth is stronger than ever. This International Women’s Day, let’s commit to action that turns aspirations into achievements.”

Mr. Ram Shrivastava, Director and Head of Global Expansion, Maharishi Ayurveda
Globally, healthcare is one of the few sectors where women form the majority, making up 70-80% of the global workforce. Yet, in India, only 29% of medical doctors are women, and their representation in leadership roles remains disproportionately low at 18%. While progress has been made, true inclusion requires more than just numbers—it demands a cultural shift, proactive leadership, and strategic initiatives to create lasting impact. Ayurveda has traditionally been a male-dominated field, with the term Vaidya long associated with men. However, this is changing. Today, women are at the forefront of Ayurveda’s evolution—leading research, education, and product innovation, and integrating Ayurveda with modern healthcare systems. We have seen this shift firsthand at Maharishi Ayurveda, where women are not only leading scientific validation, product innovation, and practitioner training, but also driving Ayurveda’s global expansion into new markets and healthcare systems. As we celebrate Women’s Day, it is important to recognise that women are not just participating in Ayurveda’s progress—they are accelerating it. By fostering mentorship, leadership opportunities, and skills development, we can ensure that Ayurveda continues to thrive as a science-based, globally recognised system of holistic wellness.

Glory Nelson, India Head, Xebia
“True inclusion goes beyond hiring women. It is about ensuring they thrive at every career stage. At Xebia, we’re building workplaces where women don’t just join but lead, innovate, and shape the future of technology.

Our commitment is to break the barriers to growth, from opening leadership pathways to supporting returning professionals, especially mothers, with flexibility and opportunity. Through initiatives like ‘Empowered Xebians,’ we elevate women’s voices and equip them to succeed—whether they’re starting out, advancing, or restarting.

This isn’t about checking boxes. It’s about results: empowered women drive stronger teams, bolder ideas, and faster growth. As leaders, we’re here to clear the path, amplify talent, and ensure every woman has the tools to lead with confidence. Xebia isn’t just opening doors. We are empowering women to redefine what’s beyond them.”

Josh Everett, CEO, Zinnia India & Head of Global Operations
“Innovation in technology thrives when we embrace diverse perspectives. Throughout my journey at Zinnia, I’ve witnessed firsthand how women’s contributions have fundamentally shaped our success—from technology and operations to leadership and strategy. Their unique perspectives and problem-solving approaches aren’t just valuable; they’re essential to creating technology that truly serves everyone. On this International Women’s Day, I want to recognize the incredible impact of our diverse teams. At Zinnia, diversity isn’t just a value—it’s our strength and a key to our growth. We are committed in continuing to support an environment where woman lead, influence, and shape the future of our company and the industry”.

Aastha Dave, Engineer Manager, Nutanix.
Empowering women to lead brings fresh ideas and impactful solutions. By creating inclusive, flexible, and supportive workplaces, we unlock everyone’s potential benefiting women, men, and the entire tech industry. Mentorship is key to growth whether it’s receiving guidance or offering it. Leadership isn’t about being in charge; it’s about empowering teams, building trust, and creating an environment where everyone thrives. For women, access to mentors, flexible work policies, and support around motherhood can make a huge difference. Lifelong learning is also crucial staying curious, embracing new challenges, and gaining hands-on experience fuels growth. But it’s not just about individual effort. Companies must build inclusive cultures that celebrate diversity, offer equal opportunities, and break down barriers to success. At Nutanix, we’re committed to making that a reality by fostering a culture of inclusion and empowerment at every level

Sanjay Krishnamurthy, President, GALE India
When people think about leadership, they often relate it to a professional title or a role of authority. While I don’t think the association is wrong, it is incomplete. Leadership is about how we live every aspect of our lives, and I believe women are naturally talented at dealing with ambiguity and multitasking. In our society, the fact that we even talk about the need for gender equity tells me there is a problem, placing the burden to prove themselves equal squarely on women.
A leader is not only someone leading a team; they are first and foremost leading themselves. Today, on International Women’s Day, I want to salute the leaders around us – some unsung – who showcase their abilities in all walks of life. So, on women’s day, in the spirit of gender equality, if I could offer up advice to all the leaders out there, my top 3 would be:
1. Your voice holds immense power; never underestimate it. Speak with clarity and confidence, even when you stand alone, for your unique perspective fuels innovation.
2. Embrace a lifelong pursuit of learning, remembering that ‘the moment we stop learning, we stop growing.’ Cultivate a deep curiosity, expand your knowledge beyond immediate boundaries, and challenge yourself to continuously acquire new skills.
3. Build authentic networks, nurturing genuine relationships. Support and uplift your fellow colleagues, and do not hesitate to seek support in return. These connections unlock unforeseen opportunities, creating a powerful synergy between personal growth and collective advancement.
At GALE India, our commitment remains clear: everyone matters. We actively create spaces where women’s voices are heard and respected, growth is encouraged, and community is fostered. To aspiring and current women leaders, my encouragement is this: Lead authentically, learn relentlessly, and leverage community strength.
Your contributions are essential—not just for personal success but for driving industries forward through diversity, creativity, and ingenuity. The future undoubtedly belongs to you.

Chinmay Hegde, Co-founder, CEO, and Managing Director of Astrikos.ai
“At Astrikos.ai, we believe AI is already shaping the future of work, and nurturing women’s talent in this domain is crucial. By doing so, we ensure that we tap into real human potential by integrating a significant percentage of the workforce into the future of work. Furthermore, it is important to note that the underrepresentation of women in AI can lead to biased algorithms due to the lack of diverse perspectives, which also serves as a barrier to innovation and responsible AI development. Our organization is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where women drive meaningful change and excel in the enterprise AI infrastructure landscape. We invest in upskilling our female employees in tech, specifically in AI, as this is crucial for future-proofing the workforce. On this International Women’s Day, we not only celebrate the contributions of our women colleagues in this space but also reaffirm our commitment to hiring more women in AI roles.”

Imran Mohammed, Head – Global Risk and Compliance, Solv
“Women have been the foundation of the society, excelling as caregivers, professionals, and leaders while contributing to innovation and progress across industries. Achieving true equality requires more than intent—it demands action to create workplaces where opportunities for growth, leadership, and success are accessible to all. Inclusive environments that recognize talent and ensure equitable opportunities for women alongside men contribute to stronger, more diverse, and resilient organizations. Gender equity is not just a matter of fairness but a key driver of innovation, productivity, and sustainable growth. Workplaces that prioritize these values foster a culture of empowerment and success for all”.

Sushree Panda, Sr. VP and Head – Marketing and Communications, Varthana
“As we approach International Women’s Day, the theme ‘Accelerate Action’ underscores the importance of investing in women for the betterment of society and businesses. True gender equality remains a distant goal – over 130 years away at the current pace, according to the World Economic Forum. This is not just a statistic, but a powerful call to action.

Despite efforts in diversity and inclusion, women are still underrepresented in senior roles and ‘the broken rung’ – the barrier at the first step to management – persists. Female boardroom representation remains lowest at the executive level, even as women do better on the consumer-facing side. Without equal representation, progress will stall.

To drive real progress, businesses must address systemic barriers – providing equal opportunities, fostering mentorship, and ensuring pay equity. At Varthana, we believe progress isn’t just about awareness; it’s about breaking the barriers that make gender equality a distant dream. We leverage the transformative power of women to drive the change needed to bridge the gap.

This Women’s Day, let’s celebrate those who’ve shattered ceilings, but also reflect on those still facing hurdles. Let’s take action to dismantle systemic inequalities and create opportunities for every woman – regardless of where she starts – to rise, lead, and transform the world”.

Piyali Goswami, Director, Software Engineering, Texas Instruments
“Innovation thrives when diverse perspectives come together, and women in technology, engineering and leadership have been instrumental in shaping the advancements we see today. One of the most powerful ways to drive change is by fostering an environment of support and mentorship. At Texas Instruments, we believe that when people are given the platform to excel, they don’t just contribute, they transform the industry. Programs like WiSH (Women in Semiconductors and Hardware) at TI showcase how structured mentorship can empower women in the semiconductor and hardware industry. Such initiatives not only encourage more women to pursue and excel in STEM but also ensure that they have the resources and network to grow into leadership roles. Each of us has a role to play in this journey. Whether as a leader, mentor, colleague, or ally, we can make a difference by uplifting the women around us. True progress is not just about numbers, it’s about creating an environment where all feel valued, heard, and empowered to bring their full potential to work every day.”

Ruchi Shankar, SoC Design Manager, Automotive Connectivity Solutions, Texas Instruments
“International Women’s Day celebrates the brilliance, resilience, and limitless potential of women across the world. One of the most powerful ways to drive progress is by fostering an environment of support and mentorship. That is why a program like TI’s WiSH (Women in Semiconductor and hardware) is important as it provides young women with hands-on experiences, mentorship, and exposure to real-world engineering. To every aspiring engineer, scientist, and technologist – your ideas have the power to transform the world. STEM is not just about equations and codes; it’s about solving real-world challenges, shaping the future, and making a meaningful impact. My advice to every woman aspiring to make a mark is to believe in yourself, embrace challenges, and never underestimate the power of your ideas. The world of technology needs your innovation, your creativity, and your leadership. Together, we can inspire the next generation of women to lead with confidence and innovation.”

Ms. Smitha Shetty – Regional Director APAC – Achilles Information Ltd
Empowering women through CSR isn’t just about inclusion—it’s about creating real, lasting change. Equitable business practices, from fair wages to leadership opportunities, help women thrive. Community-driven initiatives like education, skills training, and maternal health programs foster long-term progress. By embedding gender-inclusive policies into CSR, businesses can build diverse workplaces, support women entrepreneurs, and enhance economic participation. When companies champion gender equity, they strengthen communities and drive sustainable growth. CSR turns commitment into action, ensuring a future where opportunities are accessible to all—because when women succeed, societies prosper.

Pritika Singh – CEO, Prayag Hospital Group
“Every day is Women’s Day, for she is strength, love, and resilience embodied. A mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend—she nurtures with dedication and uplifts with grace. She is a celebration in herself, shaping the world with her determination and kindness.”

Meenal Khanna Kwatra – Founder, Amantyacare
“As women, we juggle so much, and somewhere in between, we forget to put ourselves first. Self-care isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling good, inside and out. This Women’s Day, let’s remind each other that we don’t need to earn rest, love, or kindness. We deserve it, just as we are.”

Nancy D – Chief Business Officer, Scholars Merit Pvt Ltd.
“Women are shaping the future of education, business, and innovation. Their leadership is redefining success, driving change, and creating opportunities that empower generations. This Women’s Day, celebrate the visionaries, the leaders, and the changemakers transforming the world.”

Sudeshna Roy, Co-Founders, Voynic Media
“Success isn’t just about talent—it’s about making the right moves with clarity and intention. The network you build, the knowledge you acquire, and the career choices you make all shape your path. Surround yourself with strong, ambitious women, invest in your growth, and create opportunities that align with your ambitions. This Women’s Day, let’s pledge to take charge of our careers with purpose, uplift one another, and build success on our own terms.”

Tanya Michael, Co-Founder, Voynic Media
“Advocacy begins with you. If you don’t champion your own work, no one else will. Track your achievements, articulate your value, and have the confidence to ask for what you rightfully deserve. This Women’s Day, let’s pledge to own our accomplishments, speak up with confidence, and ensure our contributions are seen and valued.”

Rashi Wadhwa – CEO, Koescore Online Pvt Ltd.
“Women entrepreneurs are transforming industries, creating inclusive solutions, and building businesses that create real impact. They are breaking barriers, challenging norms, and proving that leadership has no gender. This Women’s Day, let’s promise to support and celebrate every woman—because when one of us rises, we all do.”

Dr. Mita Brahma, HR Head, NIIT Limited
“The technology sector has made measurable strides in gender inclusion, with global tech firms reaching nearly 33% overall female representation currently, an increase of more than 2 percentage points since 2019. At NIIT itself, gender diversity has strengthened throughout our organizational structure, reflecting a more equitable distribution of talent across the workforce. From 31.62% in FY ’24, we are currently at 33.68% of women at NIIT, a number that we hope to surpass much further next year.

Despite this progress, a significant leadership gap persists globally, with women occupying only about one in four leadership positions at major global technology organizations. This disparity represents not merely a numerical imbalance but a critical missed opportunity to harness diverse perspectives, enhance innovation, and improve business outcomes.

Research consistently demonstrates that diverse teams drive greater performance and creativity, making the advancement of women in tech leadership not just a matter of equity but a strategic business imperative.

Addressing the leadership gap requires a multifaceted approach that encompasses skills development, mentorship initiatives, and deliberate career progression strategies. Traditional approaches focused predominantly on individual training have proven insufficient to overcome systemic barriers to women’s advancement in technology fields. Effective skills development programs must address not only technical competencies but also leadership capabilities, strategic vision, and confidence-building that prepare women to succeed in senior roles.”

Samir Gupta, Head of Central Region – BA Tires APAC, and Managing Director – Continental Tires India
At Continental Tires, we are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that supports women at every stage of their careers.
Recognising women currently comprise only 19.7% (As per a study published by Quess Corp in 2024) of India’s formal manufacturing workforce, we are actively working to bridge this gap by implementing various learning programs, opportunities, and a more inclusive work environment.
Furthermore, in line with our global objective to increase female representation in management positions to 25% by 2025, we have implemented initiatives such as the WeLead program, which promotes women in leadership roles. In 2023, we were able to increase this number to around 20% worldwide. Additionally, our dedicated women’s network offers mentorship and career development opportunities, ensuring that women not only join the workforce but also grow within it.

Zeena Philip, COO, Rossell Techsys
“International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate the inspiring women who drive progress and innovation across industries. At Rossell Techsys, we take immense pride in their contributions and are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where talent thrives, and opportunities are accessible to all.

Women are an integral part of our engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams. Through structured training, mentorship, and leadership development programs, we actively support their professional growth. Today, women constitute 27% of our workforce, including 9% in leadership roles—figures we are determined to grow even further.

While women continue to make significant strides in STEM, increasing their representation remains a priority. At Rossell Techsys, we are driving this progress by:

  • Sponsoring global professional certifications aligned with their roles and encouraging higher education through distance and part-time learning.
  • Collaborating with technical institutes to provide education, internships, and job placement programs for aspiring women professionals.
  • Conducting Women Leadership Programs focused on mentorship, strategic thought leadership, customer relationship management, and business communications.
  • Prioritizing women-centric hiring practices and offering flexible work arrangements to support those returning to the workforce after a career break. While certain roles, such as production staff, require an on-site presence, we provide remote work opportunities for engineering and non-technical positions.
  • Providing extended maternity leave for new mothers, supplemented by paternity leave benefits to ensure support at home.

At Rossell Techsys, we go beyond celebrating women—we invest in their growth and future. Through continuous recruitment, training, and inclusive policies, we strive to create an environment where women can lead, innovate, and shape the future of aerospace, manufacturing, and STEM.”

The Future is Female
More female individuals get employed and promote their voices in fields that were typical for male individuals, and this shows that gender should not be a limitation. It is with this perspective that women are not only drivers of economic development but pave the way and set the pace for change for the upcoming generation and provide an equal playing ground in the business world.

On Women’s Day, it is high time for us to come together to recognize and empower the women who strive for the improvement of various spheres while leading, inspiring, and revolutionizing them to make the world more progressive and open to successful women advances.
